”Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you;
blessed are you among women.” Luke 1 : 28.
Mary was chosen to be the Mother of Jesus –
The Angel Gabriel announced to her that she was favored by God.
Mary’s response to this “news” was amazement :
“But how can I have a baby? I am a virgin? ” –
‘”God will bring it about by the Holy Spirit”‘ – said the Angel. Luke 1:29.
She accepted the news- confused at first- not with resignation
– but with ‘joy”- to be the MOTHER of the son of God.
Mary said -“” I am the Lord’s servant- and I am willing to do whatever He wants.”.
She accepted it as a blessing and a honor.
Every mother – in her mothering responsibilities – is God’s servant.
Being a Mother is more than just a role. It’s a God given Mission.
All Mother”s – Consider yourselves a BLESSING.
“A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband”.. Proverbs 12:4 KJV
1 Samuel 1:10 – Speaks about another virtuous woman,
Her name was Hannah. Nothing was negative in her life.
Her name means – “Grace and Favor”.
How was her life a testimony to God’s grace?
It was through her pain; suffering and sacrifice.
Her life had many problems but it was filled with Prayer and tears.
What a wonderful an amazing role model these women have given us.
(and there are others)
Women – we should be inspired by these women- You are Blessed.
Through your struggles and difficulties- trust HIM.
Women have so much to offer and God has a plan for each of our lives.
Sometimes we face mountains of difficulties with no apparent way through.
In such times – the thing to do is to go forward in FAITH.
Follow His guidance –
He knows the way across our deserts and mountains of our lives.
Our dedication and service to God is a long, sustained,
steady pace of pressing upwards and forwards towards Him.
So keep on going -Don”t falter; Don’t Pause –
But keep walking – knowing that God is with you.
“I’m pressing on the upward way –
New heights I’m gaining every day;
Still praying as I onward bound-
Lord plant my feet on higher ground.”
Lord lift me up, and I shall stand, by faith on heaven’s table land;
A higher plane than I have found; Lord plant my feet on higher ground.”‘
Johnson Oatman. JR.
Some hardships in life are devastating.
Disappointments; Betrayals; Death of a loved one;-
and other difficult situations.
How do you go on when tragedy strikes?
How do you handle what life throws at you?
God’s tender care goes into action with His promise to heal us.
Psalms 23:3 -says- “He restores my soul…”
God gives us the strength to carry on if we ask Him.
You can have hope in whatever situation you are-
because — He is a mighty and compassionate and a loving God
who will restore your strength
Help us to find a balance when we look at ourselves in relation to God –
rather than the daily situations that come our way.
Proverbs 19:2 -Warns-
“A Person who moves too quickly may go the wrong way”. (NTL)
In today’s fast paced world, circumstances may try to keep you
from taking the time you need to think through situations.
Your situation may not be ideal , but it is in God’s hands.
Your life is not out of control – yes, it may seem to zig and zag-
but God has promised you- “‘a future and a hope.”
Proverbs 3:6 – Says – ” In all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He will direct your paths. “
The choices you make today will determine whether
you fulfill God’s design for your life tomorrow.
Life is a race -By God’s Grace run it for and with Him.
This requires focus and discipline. That way you will make the right turn.
Hebrews 12:1-2 – says that to run the race effectively-
look forward and fix your eyes on the Goal!
Forgetting the past – helps us to concentrate on what is to come.
Please give me guidance so I will choose your PATH and do your will.
Having The Attitude of Christ.—
“Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus”. Phil. 2:5
The above Verse tells us- what type of Mind
or outlook on life we should have.
Phil. 2:2-3.- (NASB)
Urges us to be–
Of the same mind,- Maintaining the same love,
– Intent on one purpose.
Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit,
but with humility of mind –
let each of you regard one another as
more important as yourself.”
Phil. 2:4. -“Do not merely look out for your own personal interests,
but also for the interests of others”.
Two words summarize the mind of Christ- Unselfishness and Humility.
Help me to have this attitude- with God’s help.
