Of all the emotions that influence human action, –
Fear is one of the most forceful.
It may be – Fear of recession; accident or something terrible
– like a national disaster- crime or terrorism
or even death- loss of family or friends.
What will give us this FREEDOM from FEAR?
The answer is – Trusting and being confident in God’s plans for you.
God is all-powerful and because of His love for us-
He will do the best for us.
Courage comes with conviction that God will never fail us.
When mountains of difficulties rise up- do not be afraid.
Trust the God who can change forbidding circumstances.
The roots of courage comes with FAITH and devotion
Jesus used words like —
“Take courage”. – ” Be of good cheer.” – “Don’t be afraid”.
Draw strength from the promise of this Verse spoken to Joshua-
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage:
Do not be afraid, nor be dismayed,
for the Lord your God is with you – where ever you go.”
Joshua 1 : 9
Help me Lord to believe -“When in FAITH I take hold of your strength-
You will change the most hopeless outlook.
You will do this for the glory of His name.”
“His divine power has given to us all things….
by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises,
that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature,
having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”
2 Peter 1 :3-4
We can escape the corruption that is around us in only one way-
and that is by becoming partakers of a new nature.
It is by acting upon His promises
that we experience a new nature.
We become sons and daughters of God (John 1:12).
If we are in union with Christ – we are new creatures with a new nature.
(2 Corinthians 5:17)
In a book called- Lambs among wolves (Meade MacGuire) –
tells an imaginary story of a little wolf that tried to be a lamb
by associating with a flock of sheep and imitating them.
So – could a wolf change into a sheep!! Of course not!
Can a leopard change his spots- by diligent effort?
Can we alter our nature into the divine nature – by our own efforts? No.
“God can give us this nature if we believe His promises – They never fail.
The proof of depending on God’s PROMISES is the fact that He will perform.”
(Desire of Ages. p 98).
Paul writes in Titus 1:2 – “Hope of eternal life — promised before time began”
Whatever our struggle -or battles in life- God has a promise for you – Claim it today.
Pray a prayer of faith – claim a promise today to meet some need in your life.
HAPPY SABBATH =
This Hymn is so beautiful – It is so many people’s favorite Hymn – Including my parents.
It speaks about God’s wonderful Creation –
The Worlds His hands made- and the stars that hang in space.
His power displayed in the universe -and rolling thunder.
Wander through the awesome – woods and glades;
To hear the sounds of beautiful singing birds.
And then to mention the lofty mountains; –
and hear the rustling brook and gentle breeze.
And then that wonderful unselfish LOVE –
God sent His Son to die for me-
I scarcely can believe what He did.
And then on the cross- HE took on my burdens –
He bled and died to take away my sin.
And finally- What JOY shall fill my heart –
When with a shout He comes to take me- to the Mansions he is preparing.
I just cannot wait for that wonderful DAY-
When I shall bow- in respect and adoration-
Proclaiming that — “HOW GREAT THOU ART!”
The beauty and order evident in the universe
is proof enough that there is an intelligent Creator.
Where there is design – There must be a designer.
“For since the creation of the world
His invisible attributes are clearly seen,
being understood by the things that are made,
even His eternal power and Godhead,
so that they are without excuse.”
Romans 1 : 20
“By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.”
Psalms 33 : 6.
“God is strong and can help you when you fall”. Jude : 24
Imagine you are on a great climb-
The wall is high and the stakes are higher.
You took your first step –
when you accepted Christ as your Savior- the Son of God.
He gave you a harness – The Holy Spirit;
In your hands he placed a rope – His Word, the Bible.
Your first steps were confident and strong;
but with the journey came weariness,
and with the height came fear.
You lost your footing – your focus- your grip and you fell.
You were out of control and you stumbled wildly.
Out of self-control- Disoriented – Dislodged and falling.
But then suddenly – the rope tightened and the tumbling ceased.
You used the harness provided and it felt strong.
You grasped the rope and found it to be TRUE-
Amazing, though you cannot see your guide – you sense Him there;
You feel safe because HE is strong and keeps you from falling.
You feel secure in His grasp.
“You gave me life and showed me kindness –
and in Your care you watched over me.” Job 10 : 12
Every day You are with me – Your LOVE never fails – Thank you Lord.
Wishing you a “Happy Sabbath”‘.
When we feel overwhelmed by the countless decisions we have to make,
we have to make sure we put God first in our lives.
When we put God first- He has a marvelous way
of preventing and solving problems and providing all
the things essential to our well-being.
In our present materialistic age
we face a real danger that we will reverse our priorities-
and fall into the trap of seeking the things of the world first
and spiritual considerations secondary.
Some people live as if the Bible says –
Seek all these things first and the kingdom of God will be added to you….. (not true)
“Our heavenly Father has a thousand ways to provide for our needs-
Those who accept the principle of making God supreme-
will find their concerns and worries vanish-
and a plain path before their feet”‘. (Ministry of Healing, p. 481)
” But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,
and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:33
Pray – for yourselves and your friends – to seek God’s kingdom-
His LOVE has no limits.
I have promised Peace – but not leisure;
Heart-rest and comfort – but not pleasure;
So do not feel when adverse things happen=
that you have failed or not being guided.
But I have said
“In the world you will have tribulations,
but be of good cheer. I have overcome the world.”
So learn of Him – the overcoming Power-
Even though – He was spat upon; scourged;
misunderstood; forsaken; crucified;
Not the pain; the mocking or the agony-
made Him forget the TASK ahead and say on the cross –
“It is finished”‘.
Let these thoughts strengthen us
– Amid failure; discord and confusion –
He will never forsake you.
What a wonderful Promise!
