Jesus was speaking to Thomas, one of his disciples –
who should have known the way but was clearly uncertain-
or he would not have asked –
“How do we know the way?” (John 14:5-6).
Christ’s answer rules out any other alternative-.
“I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.
Only He can bridge the gulf that separate us from entering the way.
Christ is the only way – the only bridge.
But we can be a ramp to that bridge.
There are many different kinds of ramps –
Think of the different ramps that lead people to Jesus-
A Book: a Sermon; a Message on TV or radio;
a word or kindness from a neighbor: a physician: family member or a friend.
You or I can be that ‘ramp’ that could guide the footsteps of some one to Jesus-
the bridge from this world to the next..
Christ is the only way –
He Bridged that gulf when He gave His life for mankind.
