The benefits of- Meditation,,,,

Blessed is the man

Consider these words of counsel written to a Pastor..
” You will receive more strength when you spend time meditating –
and mourning  on your failings, and heart corruptions
and asking for God’s pardoning love-
than you would, spending many hours studying the most able Authors.”

{Testimonies vol 1 pp 43} Mrs. E G White

Christian “Meditation” recommends a focus on specific  themes- they include –
God’s Truth;   the Plan of Redemption;  God’s love and goodness;
the Word of God;  and the beauties of Nature.

Christ provided a good model for us-
He turned aside  from the world- to go into the fields to meditate –
and in the valleys to commune with God and on the mountainsides
-or  amid the trees and forests- where it was peaceful to Pray,
The early morning  often found Him in some secluded place- meditating –
thinking of Scripture, or in Prayer.”
{Desire of Ages p 90}

Meditation counteracts stress; reduces blood pressure
and elevates our thoughts- and draws us closer to God.

Paul says in- Philippians  4 : 8
“…whatever things are true, whatever things are noble,
whatever things are just, whatever things are lovely,
whatever things are of good report – if there is any virtue
and if there is anything Praiseworthy – meditate – on these things”.

“…. that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it
For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.”
Joshua 1:8

May we be blessed this Sabbath- Spend time with the Lord.
