“LOVE in a Look”……   Leave a comment

Continuation-

“And looking at Him, Jesus felt a love for him, and said to him.
“One thing you lack:  go and sell all you possess, and give it to the poor,
and you shall have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”
Mark 10  : 21

After the young rich man rejected the Lord’s counsel to sell his possessions and went away grieved,
Jesus uttered His famous statement about it being more difficult for a rich man to enter the kingdom
than for a camel  to go through the eye of a needle.
Peter- immediately replied- “Behold we have left everything and followed  You.”  { Mark 10:28 }

Jesus not only had a look of LOVE for the ruler,
But the record says -“Jesus loved him.”
What do we say or do – to someone who we see and know is walking in the wrong direction?
Perhaps nothing-!  But with God’s grace and prayer –
we can do the best we can with Christian love.

When the  young ruler heard the specific conditions for him to follow,
he became very sad- for he was very rich. {v 22 }
The battle raged in his mind over giving up his possessions and following Jesus
– or keeping them all for himself and forgetting Christ.
His decision finally won the day. Turning he walked away in silence.
Jesus and His disciples watched him leaving – unable to do anything for his Salvation.

Pray that God will help us- to make good choices.
Remember- “You can have the whole world – but loose your own soul”….

Wishing you all a “Blessed Sabbath”..
