cast out fear

****

“There is NO fear in LOVE:
but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment.
But he who fears has not been made perfect in LOVE.”
 1 John 4 : 18

Often we are defeated, not by actual experiences, but by fear of what might happen.
We weary crossing bridges, that we never reach;
by bearing burdens that no one ever asks us to carry;
and by trying to solve problems that never materialize.

Fear robs people of contentment, health and happiness.
People fear sickness – failure – financial disaster
– war – the sight of blood – death– and the list is endless.

Fear is probably the greatest factor that Satan employs to keep Christians’
from speaking to others about their faith in Christ.
Afraid of how they will respond.
Fear does not come from God-
The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7 –
“God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power
and of love and of a sound mind.”

It was because of fear – that Aaron made the golden calf:
Jonah ran to Tarshish:  Israel spent forty years in the wilderness:
Peter denied his Lord:  Pilate passed sentence on the innocent Son of God:
and all the disciples forsook Jesus and fled.
No wonder Jesus said- “Fear not.”
Believe that He can cast them out and keep them out of our lives forever.

Once the servant of  Elisha was afraid because they were surrounded by night by the Syrian army
with horses and chariots- they surrounded the City.
Elisha reminded him- and it is true for every generation. {2 Kings 6:14-16}
“Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them “

Fear weakens our witness and robs us of our trust in God-
Having Him with us – we have no cause to fear;  surrender them to God.
