I can do2

“I make a decree that in all the domain of my kingdom
men are to fear and tremble before the God of Daniel;
for He is the living God and enduring forever,
and His kingdom is one which will not be destroyed-
Daniel 6 : 26

Why did Darius, king of a pagan nation,
speak so boldly for God?
How was he sure that the God of heaven could do what He claimed?
No doubt Daniel had told him about Israel’s God-
The king saw for himself in all matters of government –
Daniel stood for principle.
The King had planned to set him over the whole realm
because of what he .had found in him.

When Daniel was thrown into the lion’s den
the king was so sure of Daniel’s relationship with His God-
that he said to him
“Your God whom you constantly serve will Himself deliver you.”
{V 16}

Of all the stories in the Bible..
this has a powerful impact on the lives of children.-
It influences and encourages them and us
to be true to principles of integrity  and uprightness.

We all carry with us a sphere of influence.
Thank God that when His Holy Spirit controls our lives
we will regardless of our position or wealth,
influence others in favour of Christ.

God’s Blessings- For Sabbath!

“What is your Occupation?”

will of my father*****

Then they said to him — “Please tell us!
For whose cause is this trouble upon us?
What is your occupation?
And where do you come from?
What is your country?
And of what people are YOU?
Jonah 1 : 8

Jonah paid the fare in order to board the ship bound for Tarshis.
We always pay a price when we try to run away from God.

From the time Jonah decided to go in the opposite direction
from the way God was calling him, he went-
down; down ; down-
He went down to Joppa- down into the ship-
and down into the belly of the great fish.

God allowed a storm to come
in order for Jonah to learn to obey.
Perhaps there has been times when the Lord
has allowed “storms” to sweep over our lives
in order for us to learn lessons for our eternal good.

During this tempest – Jonah was asleep.
He was awakened by the sailor’s question-
“What do you mean -sleeper?”
“Arise, call on your God” and
“What is your occupation?”
{Jonah 1:6,8}

“If we have been following Jesus- step by step,
we shall have something right to tell-
concerning the way in which He has lead us….
This is the witness for which our Lord calls,
and for what of which the world is perishing.”

{The Desire of Ages- E.G. White}

It was apparent that Jonah’s unfaithfulness
was bringing trouble to those on the ship.
God’s people should be part of the solution,
not part of the problem
and it is especially sad when the preacher
has to be thrown out in order to solve the problem-
and restore tranquillity.

God wants us to excel in our occupation –
for witnessing and glorifying God in the work place.

Wishing you God’s Blessings- Happy Sabbath!

Mighty to save

“And so it was, when they had crossed over,
that Elijah said to Elisha,
“Ask!  What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you?”
And Elisha said –
“Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.”
2 Kings  2 : 9

The young man Elisha- could have asked for a number of things–
Elijah’s fame- his honor, or his talent and ability.
But instead he asked for- a Double Portion of the spirit Elijah had!

He could have seemed greedy to ask for twice as much!
but it actually indicated Elisha’s greatest need.
He did not let anything separate him from the “man of God.”
Weather he went to Bethel and Jerico- He stayed close to him.

You and I know the source of our Power!
It is by staying close to the Lord through a meaningful devotional life-
Daily study of His Word:
constant communication with our Lord
and fellowship with his people.

ELISHA- performed miracles –
which were deeds of mercy and kindness.
His mission was very much like that of our Savior.

A Double portion – awaits you and me – The promise of-
“the out pouring of the “Latter Rain-
as men and women of our churches unite their efforts together.

“Make Elisha’s request ours too!
